As apandemic unleashed itself and we were all suddenly confined to our homes, Idecided to take a culinary voyage around the world. On the advice of mychildren and my friends, I started posting one of my recipes every day onlnstagram @cookedbynath Gettingcreative in the kitchen provided an outlet at a time of such heightenedanxiety, keeping me busy and bringing me closer to the ones I love. Ireconnected with people I had not spoken to in years and met new ones along theway. I felt in touch with the outside world, even if only through the internet. In thoseparticularly difficult moments, it gave me something to accomplish by day’send. My kitchenkept me sane. Peoplestarted asking me to memorialize my recipes, so I decided to put everything inwriting. To challenge myself to produce something constructive and meaningfulout of this crisis. To bring color back into a world that had seen so muchdarkness.
